When cameras are mounted outdoors there is a small amount of space where the network cable goes in behind the mounting. Insects can get in here and cause damage to the electrics, they did to my RLC-423 (they liked to get in here to get warmth)- equally if the camera is mounted on an uneven surface like a tree they get in the gaps there too. I think you should suggest that people seal this and any area where insects can get in behind, I have used some outdoor silicone sealant and works fine.
