I purchased the Reolink Doorbell POE. When I try to add device via the app it says "Failed to connect device". Everything works fine, the NVR recognises the doorbell, I can view the doorbell camera via the app which also has the microphone button, I can see it via my TV which is connected to my NVR. All in all it's doing what it should but it just wont let me add it as a new device.# My NVR, cameras and doorbell are all up to date with their firmware. Anyone else have this issue ?Note: I have tried adding the device by scanning the QR code on the doorbell, using the LAN option and the Input UID/IP method - All fail to work.
@dgordon42_415060065599711 You are 100% correct. With an ever increasing 'smart doorbell' market it's confusing why Reolink would release a dumb doorbell. It's a camera with as doorbell tacked on and as you clearly pointed out, if you have to open the app every time or click on a notification then the whole process takes way too long. I had no idea this was how it worked. They have a 30 day return policy and unless I can find some proof that it will be implemented in the future I'll be returning mine.
Had the RLK8-820D4-A plugged into an LG Full HD TV via HDMI in our loungeroom. I would plug the cameras in and then hold them up in the spots where I was thinking of placing them. Once that was all decided I put the NVR in the garage, which is where it would permanently stay. Thought I would check one of the cameras a 2nd time, plugged everything in and this time the box is connected to an old TV we have in the garage, a Samsung HD TV (not full HD, not 4K). My problem is now that I cant get the NVR to work on that TV which means I can't shut down the NVR properly. I have tried a connecting via HDMI & VGA cable but I just get a message 'Mode Not Supported'. There are no settings on the NVR that can be changed via the app or web browser that allow it to work. The Reolink support page says you can shut down the NVR via the web browser. However the pictures they show in the guide don't match my NVR. I have no 'shutdown' button via the web browser. So effectively my NRV is stuck. I can't unplug it, I can't shut it down and I can't find a fix for it not working on the TV.
