Firmware update process

I think the firmware update process should be simplified. I just want to hit a button and have the nvr or camera do the work to upgrade. I don’t want to check my current version to make sure I’m on the right page and then download a file and go through steps. I don’t want to worry about bricking a camera or the nvr.

I would hope you place this usability idea on the development roadmap. It really needs to be seamless to the end user without the hassle. I’d like the option to automatically upgrade or manually upgrade or prevent firmware upgrades as well.

Finally if automating the upgrade give me the option to pick the day of week and time of day that any device should attempt the upgrade, understanding it gives me the flexibility to decide when a device might be off line.

Thank you for your suggestions on the auto-upgrade.

Now in the NVR with the person/vehicle detection has an option of the auto-upgrade. We will put the firmware on the download center earlier than the NVR background. We will put the stable version in the NVR background and push it to the end-users when it is ready.

I will record down your suggestions on modifying the upgrade feature and tell the team for evaluation.
