Installed in late June, and love it! Trouble is, the 2 nights it has rained hard since then, the camera has gone offline. It plays an annoying loud tone for the whole neighborhood frequently, and flashes the spotlight. In both cases, I remove POE power and then have to set the camera up again like I did when it was new. The app on my phone shows 'uninitialized device'.
Does this camera have a known point that water can get inside the case? Did I receive a defective unit?
I have had speaker and spotlight disabled since I first installed. The tones and spotlight blasting in the middle of the night are a serious problem!Reply QuoteShare0- Share this Post

@user_596011330842664_596011330842664 did you properly protect the cable tree from the elements? Especially the reset key, as to what you mentioned, it sounds like water is shorting it out causing it to reset.
Fyi: doesnt have to be difficult to cover the reset key and power port; electrical tape does the trick.

Thank you both! Will try to get back up on the roof soon.
I had assumed an outdoor camera would be waterproof.
