I have a Reolink DUO that has always been a bit flaky to connect to. Sometimes I can't connect at all, and other times it's just very slow. I have it recording to an NVR on a MacOS computer in my home, and it constantly disconnects and reconnects. I ordered two others a few months later, and these two new ones seem to have a different Build Number and different firmware installed. The Reolink app says all my camera's firmware are up to date, even though they're the same product and two have one firmware version and the original one has a different version.

The two newer ones connect much faster when connecting through the app. They also don't disconnect from my NVR and seem to be perfectly reliable.

So my question is if there's a newer hardware version that has been released quietly? I'm planning on upgrading them to the new DUO 2 anyway, but in the meantime it would be nice if there was something I could do to get my original one working as well as my newer one. I attached images of the info pages from the old one and a new one to show what I'm talking about.

@julian_481116254322917 it's the firmware which is different. Just email support with the hardware version and they will provide you with the latest firmware. It's very easy to apply.

Thanks. It would be nice if you could just download it from their downloads page, but there doesn't seem to be firmware for the Duo on their downloads page. But I'll email them,

@julian_481116254322917 same applies for other cameras such as E1 outdoor, Argus, etc. I have been emailing them on this but they think that this might cause more issues if customers apply the wrong firmware. I would add a disclaimer and voila.

As far as I know, there is no new firmware for DUO1. Since you are upgrading to DUO2, this may not matter now. Because DUO2 is much better.. You get seamless 4K stitched image. Not only you get wider view (180 deg) but the vertical view is taller which means you can see the front farther. Despite 4K image, H265 cuts down the storage by half compared to DUO1 with H264. Also, pet detection which is only available on DUO2 is great for tracking dogs that are making mess on my lawn. You will not want DUO1 once you get DUO2. I am not sure what I am going to do with my DUO1 now that I got DUO2.
