Hi,I am having serious trouble with the focus performance of this camera. I am not sure if it's hardware or software at fault here. Basically if I zoom in, the camera hunts for focus (taking a long time to do so) and most of the time it just gives up with the picture remaining out of focus, which leaves me having to manually adjust the focus, which I may add is almost impossible to get right. Now and again, it'll get focus but this is rare. This also sometimes occurs when zooming out to wide angle but it seems to happen more frequently when zooming in.This issue is incredibly frustrating as it effectively makes the camera useless for zooming in. By the time I've actually gone to zoom in on a subject, it has disappeared, meanwhile the image remains blurred while the camera hopelessly tries to focus, eventually just giving up.The lighting conditions whilst testing this have been excellent, so this certainly wouldn't have been the issue for the focus troubles.Is this just a case of very bad software design? I have never seen a zoom lens with such slow focus characteristics! It's almost like auto focus was added as an afterthought....
I do not have this camera model myself, but I have to ask if you have the latest firmware applied to the camera as this has often addressed issues of focus or PTZ functions. What client are you using for viewing, iOS, Android, etc.? Has it works for you previously without issue, or from the start have you always had this focus issue? A little more info may allow us to assist you better in solving the problem.
Hello,Thanks for the reply. Sorry, I neglected to mention that I have upgraded to the latest firmware for this camera (Version 476_16111708). I have only had the device a few days, but I have had this issue from the day it was installed.To control the camera I have used both the web interface built in to the camera and also the Reolink client for both Mac and iOS, and in all cases the same issue is occuring.
