      So I am using reolink client with a PTZ 823a 16x. I am trying to figure out how to enlarge or zoom in on a face from a recorded incedent. there does'nt seem to be a tool to do that.
      I have also downloaded the clip to try to do the same thing with windows media player and there is not a tool to do that either. Any help would be appreciated.

        Using the Windows Client, when a camera is in Playback mode and showing a recording, I can use the scroll wheel on my mouse to zoom in on the picture, then stop the playback and a Camera icon appears on the screen which can be used to create a "snapshot". (Alternately, I use the Windows "Snip Tool" to grab part of the screen.

        I have only RLC cameras. No idea if this works on the PTZ.

            @crimp-on_62210811129 Some more detail:

            • Have to remember to make sure that the resolution (lower left) is on "Clear".
            • I found it easiest to start the recording playing, then
            • Use the mouse wheel to zoom
            • Then use the mouse to get the part of the picture I wanted to view.
            • Then, just before reaching the point where I wanted a Snapshot, click the "One Frame at a time" icon.
            • Once the correct spot was reached, click on the Camera icon to take a snapshot.

            In addition, I was testing this with a 12MB camera and found that when a face is too far away from the camera, even a 12MB camera will not result in a clear image of someone's face.

              Pausing is not possible while zooming with client, only with mobile app currently. So you will need to take a snapshot with client during playback without stopping which is annoying. Reolink is aware of the issue and hopefully they will address the issue soon.

                You have to consider the focal length and field of view when comparing the camera resolution. The current 12mp camera has much wider field of view compared to 8mp camera and the objects will appear smaller. So when you blow up the 12mp image, your pixel density could be lower than 8mp camera. TrackMix camera, for example, shows that the 1080P telephoto lens provides a better image at far distance than the blow up image from the wide angle lens with 8mp resolution due to focal length (8mm vs 2.8mm). This is the reason why I have yet to upgrade my 8mp camera to the 12mp camera.

                  On my Windows Client, I do not "Pause", I just click the button "One Frame at a time", which effectively stops motion and does not change the zoom.
