      Hey all

      i have an Argus PT

      I’ve noticed in live view it will detect Motion correctly, like a car driving past on the road, but it won’t alert me unless that car is pretty much at my front door

      in my screenshot

      • When I park my car in the driveway I get an alert as I’m very close to the camera
      • on the road a white car is driving past when the screenshot was taken
      • in live view, you can see it has correctly identified the car driving past with the little car icon showing
      • I’m not alerted to that car driving past

      is there anyway to increase the range that the Argus will alert me for ? It’s clearly detecting it correctly, it’s just not alerting me because it’s not close enough.

      While I don’t want to know when cars are driving past on the road, I would like to know if someone parks behind my car in the driveway

      I’ve got sensitivity at 100.

          @mattsam_722200558489732 From its specs we can see that the max PIR detection range for moving and living object is 10m. For vehicle it is up to 15m.

            @joseph_1979

            thanks Joseph

            highly annoying because it correctly identifies people and vehicles at a much greater distance but doesn’t alert me to it

              @mattsam_722200558489732 In live view you mean? Note that PIR sensors utilise the detection of infrared that is radiated from the objects that emit heat. Triggering the PIR is by moving across the sensing slots rather than approaching the sensor.

              You needed a dc powered camera with pixel changes detection which have a range of 100 feet rather than a battery camera which uses PIR.
