Program crashes whenever I hit record

I'm using a windows 2012 server and whenever I clicked to have the cameras record the program would immediately freeze and I would have to close it, but the cameras would record while frozen. I enabled the scheduled records and the same problem happened, the cameras start recording but the program instantly freezes. If I leave the program open and frozen the cameras will record, but I can't access the program at all. If I close it, they don't record. Any idea why this is?
As a side note, is there a way to change a cameras IP address while the camera is not connected? The cameras where set to an old network that does not exist anymore, so I can't change the static IP address they have. -
This seems to be a software issue.
