      Hi

Am I the only one who thinks that it seems a bid odd that Reolink creates a Pro-version before the standard version is even done?

Where is the cloud service? When is that coming?

You have PIR motion detection that works allot worse than my $5 china LED outdoor lamp (I mean, seriously ALLOT worse).

The camera miss much of the beginning of every recording (far from 0.1 second that you started out by mentioning)

I have a Argus camera that, according to the battery life indicator, have between 0.2 and 4 min activity every day even if nothing is recorded?

The 6 sec recording causes motion right in front of the camera not to be recorded for multiple seconds for some reason? I often see 6 seconds recording followed by 6-12 seconds of "space" followed by yet 6 seconds of recording. I think this is related to the very poor PIR control.

So, my wish for Christmas this year? not a pro-version, just a v. 1.0 of the firmware.

      Thanks.

      Best Regards
      Jens

        Hi Jens,
        Thanks for your posts.
Some of the issues you mentioned are to be fixed with the newer firmware version coming soon with the release of Argus Pro. For example, some reported isseus like failing to send Emails with attachment, and missing recording, etc.
The camera will wake up from sleep mode when its PIR sensor detects a person and start to record. So there is always a lag. This is how battery-powered cameras works, that they don't work constantly like other cameras (e.g. RLC-410) do. For Reolink RLC-410 for example, it has no power worries and works constantly. So it has pre-record of 6-7 seconds. But it certainly is what battery-powered cameras won't permit.
So for battery-powered cameras, there is always a lag. For Reolink Argus, the lag is 0.7 sec. It is not a lot. But when the person moves fast, some of the movements won't be captured. Like the case of the person in your driveway. To address the problem, you may adjust the position of the camera. So the camera will detect the target earlier and wake up earlier and start to record earlier.

          Hi Bob

          Thank you for your reply.
I still think you are totally missing the point of my post.
You spend time creating a new version of the camera even before you have the original version up and running.
          You write:

For example, some reported isseus like failing to send Emails with attachment, and missing recording, etc.

That is basic features that simply must work in a surveillance camera! How can you wait fixing these bugs to align it with a new product release? I have never experienced such a strange prioritization before. You are selling cameras that are supposed to be used for surveillance purpose, but still you don´t fix things like:
For example, some reported isseus like failing to send Emails with attachment, and missing recording, etc.

If you read all of the commercial bullets on:
https://reolink.com/product/argus/ I cant put a green check-mark on many of them.
Anyone who wants to buy my four cameras? They are for sale cheap!

          Best Regards
          Jens

No, you misunderstand. I meant that the issues will be fixed with a firmware upgrade. When? Around the release of the Argus Pro. It's not that the older version of Argus has been given up.

I kind of agree with Jens on this one. I know I would have never bought the first Argus had I known a Pro version was coming soon. I hope Reolink considers a solar charger, like the Arlo Pro 2 has. This would make it easier to keep the battery charged for high mounted cameras. I'd also still like to see a charging cord to use for power when the camera is near an outlet.

So it looks like Reolink is testing a solar charger, for outdoor mounting. Now if they only came out with a charging cord/adapter for use indoors near an outlet. Oh, and fix the app so we can turn PIR on/off for all the cameras at once.
