I have a very newly-set-up system which at the moment only has two RLC-410 cameras connected. I will eventually need to have more cameras, but I'm just getting started with all of this. The cameras connect to a POE Ethernet switch, so I'll be using all POE Ethernet cameras. As of now, one of the cameras is mounted outdoors and is actually in use. The other one is just laying in my office until I get time to mount it. So both cameras are active in the system, but only one is mounted. A third camera has not yet been connected, but that's irrelevant, I guess.I'm using the Reolink app on two cell phones, and it seems to work fine. I have the PC Windows Client running on a Win7 PC (client version 7.2.2.12).While the Client program running on the win-7 PC generally works, one camera sometimes seems to disconnect, and although I still get "push" alerts on my phone saying that it's detected motion, and when I launch the phone app, it displays live video and audio from that camera, when I check the PC to view the recorded videos, the camera shows "State: Failed", and then there are no videos recorded. So the camera isn't really dead, the PC client software has just "lost" that camera for some reason. The other camera on the system remains connected to the PC client. But given time, perhaps the other camera will also disconnect from the PC client. It's only been connected for less than a day - for whatever that's worth! So it's as if the client failed to communicate with the one camera (if only momentarily) and just gave up on that one camera and didn't try again. Is there a way to make the PC client automatically reconnect to the cameras when it suffers from some kind of temporary communication failure? As far as I know, I have to close the program and re-start it to make it reconnect to the camera. Having the camera disconnect and the PC program fail to reconnect leaves this location "unguarded", so it's the same as having no camera there at all.If the PC client would automatically re-try and reconnect to cameras, that would make the system more robust and useful as a security system. Thanks, everyone!
I am having the same problem, using wifi 4mp cam and Widonws PC client app is dropping connection to the camera saying State: Login failed and it stops recording and i have to reconnect the camera again.
I have exactly the same problem and I beleive it started with the latest version. Client says login failed but EVERY time I manually press retry it connects and is connected for a while. Client has been up and running all January and it has only recorded ~3days.Any solution? Is there any way to access the previous client version?
Hello jsigmo,Thanks for your sharing. Some questions for you, in order to collect more info and provide the usable suggestions:1. Are you using a Reolink NVR in this setup? If you are, then are the cameras recording to the NVR? 2. Is the computer (installed with Reolink Client) in the same network with the two cameras?3. If you swap the two cameras on the POE Ethernet switch, will the same problem occur to the same camera?4. If you open the web admin portal of the two cameras one by one and leave them on, will either of them log out automatically after a while? or they will stay connected on the browser?5. If you run into this problem again, please try doing nothing but rebooting the router, and see whether the camera will come back displaying after the router boots up.6. If you have other programs streaming heavily to the Internet, try shutting them down to release some bandwidth for the cameras and see if there is any improvement. We appreciate your feedback! For other members in this topic:The similar issues you guys are having are mostly related with network problems. You may try the suggestions above and see how it goes. If you need troubleshooting advice, you may start a new topic and I will answer there. Thanks!
I also have this issue my cameras are connected to my pc one Wifi and the other Ethernet. They keep dropping connection on the pc software I logged in on web admin portal but that also drops I changed setting to above. It’s causing me issues as when it says login failed it isn’t recording only on sd card inside camera. Can you suggest anything to help me please. Even willing to try 3rd party software but needs to be able to record via pc.Thanks
Same problem using two RLC423 POE, two RLC-410WS (wifi) and a RLC420 POE
