I have an external eSATA hard drive and when I connect it to my RLC-410 NVR via the eSata plug on the back it isn't being seen by my NVR. There is no information in the manual how to do this other than to plug it in. Do i need to first create a partition on the HD and if so what format? Fat32, NTFS or what? Or will my NVR format it on its own if I connect it without a partition format? When I go to Devices in settings on my NVR it only shows the internal 2tb HD... and it won't show what partition format it is.I hope someone can help me... please?Allan
Dear Allan,There are two reasons that may cause the external HDD not recognized by the NVR. One is the external HDD may not be compatible with the NVR. Please provide more details about the HDD (Spec and model). The other may be related to the eSATA port on the NVR. You could take out the internal HDD and connect it to the eSATA port for a test.
