Does the Reolink Go constantly stream footage to the ReoLink Cloud or does it only stream "Movement" events?

If I want to log into the camera on the Reolink app and periodically watch the camera footage, I assume this would count as "Data Usage" on the sim card, but when I close the app, does that data just shut off? And then the camera will only record movement again?

I'm trying to figure out how much data I will be using and what kind of plan to get on the sim card.

Does anyone have experience with T-Mobile?

Any help or advice would be appreciated.

        Hi, for your questions:
        1. The camera will only upload "Movement" event to Cloud storage.
        2. When you shut off the App, the camera won't consume data, unless it uploads videos to Cloud storage. And when the camera detects motions, it will upload to Cloud or record to SD card automatically. (recording to SD card won't consume data)
        3. The camera will record movement events only.
        4. Here are the actions that will consume data: live view, playback (similar to live view), Cloud uploading, email notification (sending picture), push function (few data will be used in this function, it could be ignored)

Live view will consume most of the data, here for you to refer: 1GB data can support 1-hour Clear mode live view, or 10-hours Fluent mode live view.
T-mobile is the suggested SIM card, you may purchase from this link: https://prepaid.t-mobile.com/prepaid-internet

          Thank you, Cynthia.

Just to clarify... When a movement is detected, does the camera record directly to SD card? Or does it also record to the Cloud? Or does it record to the card and then UPLOAD it to the cloud?

If I receive a notification that a movement was recorded through the app and want to play it back, am I accessing the SD card IN the camera? Or am I watching the video in the cloud?

I'm just trying to get this straight!

Hi, the camera will record videos to SD card and upload videos to Cloud at the same time, but the video files in the Cloud and the SD card are not the same.
The video clip in Cloud is fixed 8 seconds, if the motion last for more than 8 seconds, then the whole event will be cut into several 8-seconds clips then uploaded to Cloud. And the video clip in SD card depends on how long the motion lasts)
When you playback, you are playing the camera SD card videos, and you can playback the SD card videos via Reolink Client/App only. And if you want to display the Cloud videos, you can login to the Cloud account via Reolink App or web browser then display the video in Cloud storage.
