Argus 2 have a very short PIR range

I watched a review about this camera about a year ago regarding short range of the PIR sensor on the Argus 2. I thought they would have fixed this by now but I was wrong. At outside the range for the PIR sensor is about 15ft for humans even at max sensitivity. This is pretty disappointing, does anyone have a solution?

I think the limitation is hardware unfortunately... The best range I get with my Argus cameras is 3 meters.
