What is the difference, if any between a RLN8-410 and a RLN8-410-E NVR? How does one go about physically determining which model is which?
The hardware is different though they look the same, RLN8-410-E NVR supports 4K cameras but RLN8-410 does not. TheRLN8-410-E NVR is an improved version.
I have had the same question and I still feel that the question was not answered fully. What is a easy to identify which one is owned? (ie) is there something that can be viewed on the interface, serial number etc?
On the NVR You can see the information in "System", "System information", "Model".If you are using the Reolink client OSX "Settings", "System information", "Device type".I don't know the Windows client option, but it should be similar.
You can find it on the system information of the NVR.https://support.reolink.com/hc/en-us/articles/360005236253-How-to-Find-out-System-Information-via-Reolink-PoE-NVRhttps://support.reolink.com/hc/en-us/articles/360004842694-How-to-Find-out-System-Information-via-Reolink-Client-Windows-https://support.reolink.com/hc/en-us/articles/360004843154-How-to-Find-out-System-Information-via-Reolink-Client-Mac-https://support.reolink.com/hc/en-us/articles/360004894193-How-to-Find-out-System-Information-via-Reolink-App
So I purchased the RLK8-800B4 system, the NVR that comes with it per "System Information" is a RLN8-410. So based on your post Cynthia, even though the bundled system came with 4K camera's the NVR supplied with it doesn't support 4k?IMG_6661.jpeg
Regarding the RLN8-410, for the monitor connected directly to it, does the NVR have a screen saver function or do I have to turn the monitor off when not in use? The NVR and Monitor will be in a wiring closet, I will mostly be using the Windows client software to monitor the camera's.
Your NVR supports 4K. You can refer to https://support.reolink.com/hc/en-us/articles/900000602543-Hardware-Version-of-Reolink-NVRsThere is a login password on the monitor. If you do not use the monitor for some time, the screen will lock and you need to enter the password to log in next time.
Having a gmail setup issue. I created a gmail account for the NVR to set alerts from. The "test" function seems to be making it out on the internet but I get the following email from gmail. Any ideas on how to have gmail (aka Google) allow it?"Someone just used your password to try to sign in to your account from a non-Google app. Google blocked them, but you should check what happened. Review your account activity to make sure no one else has access."
