Reolink Argus 2E Is On Its Way
-
Hey everyone,
as someone in here already asked I also had a hard time to find the differences between the 2 and 2E.
Here is what I found out so far:
2
Weight 260 g 230 g
PIR 9 m 10 m
PIR-POV 120 100
FOV 130 120
2E
Weight 230 g
PIR 10 m
PIR-POV 100
FOV 120
I also think we may get a better CMOS Sensor but that is not very clear.
I would also like to try out the new camera.
Kind regards -
I’d love to be part of your new Argus 2E test out, I have 4 Argus 2’s and I absolutely love them but I need more coverage on my back yard thank you️

Hi Reolink,
What follows is my report on the "Reolink Go" trial during this breeding season. The 2E looks like it may have some useful applications too ?? A opportunity to trial it would be great.
Pagham Harbour - Tern Island Trial Report 2020
Trial Background & Assessment
The remote camera was sited some 2.5 km away from the Visitor Centre, out in Pagham Harbour, on Tern Island.
The camera was mounted on a fence post and powered by a built-in battery pack and solar panel. Two way communication with the device was via a 4g Mobile Network (data only link). It was deployed from early March 2020 to September 2020.
The camera provided a feed of “live” video (pictures and sound), both during the day and also at night (utilising its built-in Infra-red lighting). Colour pictures were received in daylight and monochrome in Infra-red conditions.
We also had the facility to make video recordings (pictures and sound), triggered both manually and by the built-in motion sensor. I have downloaded those pictures from the camera's on board memory (16Gb) via the internet / data link. Again, both day and night time recording was achieved.
Monitoring of the system demonstrated that the camera's battery power was consistently maintained at over 80%, although it is fair to say that we probably didn't fully exploit the streaming possibilities owing to the CV-19 Lockdown. However, I think that the system would deliver as much as we could reasonably need / expect it to.
On inspection, after recovery, the camera and solar panel were in good condition. There were no obvious signs of undue 'wear and tear' after 6 months continuous exposure to the harsh Marine environment. In that time, we had the full spectrum of weather conditions ranging from glorious sunshine to heavy rain and a gale, or two.
The only equipment problem we experienced was with the Solar panel's mounting point. This arose during installation on Tern Island. We had no opportunity to replace it owing to tidal timings and the CV-19 Lockdown that followed immediately. However, our 'temporary fix' worked for the duration of the trial. (The solar panel will need replacing ~ £25)
Monitoring of the Camera's output was successfully achieved via Android, Windows and Apple compatible devices, using the appropriate proprietary Applications provided by the camera's manufacturer. We had no difficulty installing this software on “stand alone” devices and configuring it to suit. These applications appear to be secure and robust. There is a manufacturer's 'help facility' on line.
We have also successfully “cast” the Tern Island camera video (both live and recorded) from an android tablet and mobiles into the existing Television monitoring screens sited within the Visitor Centre for the multiple nest box cameras.
Because of Lockdown, we have not been able to test streaming of the trial camera's feed onto Facebook, but I am confident that can be achieved without difficulty, as it is a known process.
Summary
The trial of the remote camera on Pagham Harbour's Tern Island has proved that both the kit and the technology works !
Conclusion
From a trial point of view, I think the Reolink Go camera has been a great success - especially for a Capital cost of ~ £250 and Revenue cost of £16 !
(Note - A previous system was costed in 2013 with a Capital cost of £3,750. However, I don't believe the proposed transmission link would have worked and additional infrastructure funding would have been required. It also only provided a fixed point camera / transmitter installation, whereas the Tern Island trial system gives complete flexibility of location)
The nature of this camera kit means it can be deployed quickly and almost anywhere. However, there is one point to note which is that, owing to it's physical construction, care must be taken with its siting as it could be vulnerable to vandalism / theft, although this applies to any installation to a greater or lesser degree.

Hello, I am already using Argus 2 and would like to try out Agus 2E. Please send me one.
-
I would be honored to test the Argus 2E!
I was one of the very first Argus (1) customers and have since upgraded to 8 Argus 2 Cameras including 4 solar panels. I have shared feedback in the past (i.e. The outdoor security mount needs to be redesigned for better mounting /security) and I would love to test the new camera and provide feedback. In addition I am influencer on Google with over 412,000 people seeing my reviews worldwide, this could be very helpful to share the news about the new camera.
I feel I would be an asset to assisting Reolink to launch the BEST ARGUS 2E Camera possible!

Would love to be considered for the 2E trial!
Currently a Pro user on our rural property. Love the solar panel and wireless connectivity. -
Hi! I would like to participate too !
-
I would like to participate in the trial too please
-
I currently have a Reolink system with six POE cameras and NVR. I'd love to try the wire-free camera as I'm always using a spare non-Reolink wifi camera for spot use around the house. I love my POE Reolink cameras!
-
Hi I would like to participate i this trial... i have already 2 cameras Argus pro and using and promoting them to my friends... very happy with the support and the app.
thx. -
I'll give it a crack Nigel.
-
I will test this camera out in the cold conditions here in Alberta, Canada. I have 3 other Reolink cameras.
-
I would like to participate in this(Argus 2E) and any other trial that you offer. I own and run three Reolink wireless cameras. What sets me aside from a few others is that I am running these cameras on a Macbook Pro. Thank you.
-
Love the ease of my Reolink cameras and the value of the storage subscription. I also use a lorex camera system also wireless. Frankly I find the video quality on the lorex camera better. I would love to tests the new camera to see if this improved. I prefer the Reolink do to the cloud subscription cost being less.

Are Australians included in the Argus 2e Beta testing? I would LOVE to be included. I currently have 3 x Argus 2 cameras, 2 with solar panels. I'm looking at at least 3 more cameras eventually.
Does saying 'Pretty please pick me help?'. hehehe
And how about a blonde pic of me in my leopard print face mask?
lol lol

I have 3 reolink cameras, 1 battery powered Argus and 2 solar powered Argus2's, I would love to try the new Argus 2E because the batteries in my Argus only last for a week so I would love to take part in the trial!
-
I would like to test it alongside our existing 2 Reolink cams (RLC-511 & RLC-511W)

Hallo,
