Hello; Our company recently acquired a Reolink set of 6 cameras + a NVR RLN8-410. We installed everything and it's working smoothly, but we have one problem, and it's the recording time.I've search for this for 2 entire days over internet and I can't believe anyone requested this, as it is enforced by law in many European countries. We need the NVR to specify the exact amount of days we need to keep the recordings before they are deleted, regardless of the free space of the HDD, as we have to keep our office recordings for 30 exact days. This is a simple feature that should be present in any semi-professional CCTV system I think, but I've been looking throughout all the interface of the NVR and it's not there. I even updated to the latest firmware and nothing, that feature is just missing.Could you please tell me when are you going to include it? as that is mandatory by law.Thank you!
Could you please submit your question to https://reolink.com/topic/specify-fixed-amount-of-recording-days/? Our support team will help you further.
Hi Cynthia, nice to meet you!My question is, how can I configure the NVR to delete recordings older than 30 days in order to be in compliance to our country's law?Thank you very much.
Is there anyone who could help on this? I can't believe anyone else has this need...The API does not provide anything for deleting videos on schedule. The only thing is to build up the NVR into a small mini PC with a real OS, but Reolink also does not provide anything to do that. So, there should be a solution somewhere to do this basic task.
Sorry that our NVR cannot support deleting the recordings older than 30 days, but you can set the HDD to overwrite so it will overwrite the oldest recordings when the HDD is full.https://support.reolink.com/hc/en-us/articles/360006073894-How-Long-Can-Reolink-NVR-Record-for
Thank you Cynthia, I was afraid so. But it's not a matter of not being able, as the system running inside is Linux. The developers just need to add a checkbox with a textbox where you place the number of days you want to keep the recordings, then within the embedded OS will trigger a command once everyday to delete older files than $variable, which is the number you place in that textbox. If you are the developer it's easy, it's just a matter of wanting to do it, after all the NVR is just another computer.Kind regards.
