Hi All, I recently installed a RLK16-820D-A, which includes the RLN16-410 NVR and 8x RLC-820A cameras. So far I'm impressed with the ability of the AI to distinguish people and vehicles from any motion, however, I'am having one issue. Currently I'm receiving 'person detected' notifications every time someone walks along the footpath outside my house, even though the entire footpath has been blocked out behind a motion zone. See attached images which show an example of one of my cameras covering the footpath. Note that the blue areas are those that you "don't want to receive alerts about". As can be seen in the images, the entire footpath is blocked out for motion detection, but as the iPhone notification centre screenshot shows, I'm still getting push notifications for all my cameras that cover the footpath. I have push notifications enabled with detection type set to 'person', as I do want to be notified every time someone walks up to my front door, but I don't want notifications every time someone walks along the footpath, and I thought that was the whole point of the motion zoning. In the old version of the firmware of the camera, the motion detection zone does not work with AI. Could you please contact our support team at support@reolink.com? They will help you upgrade the camera.
Thanks for the reply. I updated the firmware on the NVR and all the cameras as soon as I installed the system. All the cameras are running firmware V3.0.0.177, which is the latest firmware available for the RLC-820A via the Reolink website, and the NVR itself is running V3.0.0.123_21031206. See the attached images. Is motion detection zoning meant to working with AI in these firmware versions or does Reolink support have an unreleased firmware version that addresses the issue? There are currently two firmwares available on the Reolink website for RLC-820A cameras. Both of them apply to my camera hardware version, which is IPC_523128M8MP. The firmware versions are V3.0.0.124 and V3.0.0.177. Naturally I assumed that V3.0.0.177 was the latest version and included all the fixes introduced in V3.0.0.124, but that doesn't seem to be the case as I see that both firmwares were updated on 15/3/2021. Why there are two firmwares that both apply to my camera hardware version is beyond me, but I'll now install V3.0.0.124 instead as I note the changeling says "MD filters Human/Vehicle detection false alerts and MD area is synchronized by the Human/Vehicle detection."
Update: So I installed the V3.0.0.124 firmware, which, according to the changelog, fixes the issue of alerts for person and vehicle detection behind motion zone areas. Unfortunately, the problem is not completely fixed.I installed the firmware last night and then did some testing. It was working while my cameras were in night vision mode, in that I was no longer getting notifications for person detections when I walked up and down the footpath (behind the motion zone). However, this morning during daylight I am still getting notifications for people walking on the footpath. So it seems V3.0.0.124 fixed the issue during night mode, but not during normal daylight recording. IMG_80A5F68B1209-1.jpegIMG_C6B5402CAA03-1.jpegIMG_612584CAA898-1.jpeg
In this case, Could you please contact our support team at support@reolink.com? And please also send us some videos of the false alarm videos. We'll need to let our engineer check first.
