FTP Image upload . . . ?

Is there a way to upload images and not video to an FTP server address? I don't have bandwidth to support efficient video uploading, but uploading an image or "snap" on a set schedule would be great.

In my setup, I get 264 video and a jpg. I get about 3 jpg's and hour. I didn't see anywhere to specify one or the other or change the frequency. Definitely could use some enhanced firmware with more setting to control this. I may need to resort to writing a script to pull jpeg from the camera, since my other cameras send a jpg once a second.

It appears that the frequency of writing out jpg's (and 264 video) is controlled by the file length of the video in the ftp settings. I changed my file length from 1024 to 50. I now get a jpg approximately once a minute from the camera to my ftp server.

It also pushes the smaller video file, but I just delete those. It would be nice to turn of the video files to save the wireless bandwidth to the ftp server.

Now if I could easily get the jpeg size down below 150K and remove the video, I could send weather images directly to wunderground.

Right now I have to ftp to a Raspberry Pi which applies imagemagick to get the image size down, then ftp to wunderground. It works, but I'd rather just ftp directly like other webcams.

I have the same issue - selecting 'Image only' in the File Type under FTP settings appears to be ignored and both a .jpg and an .mp4 file is being uploaded. What's up with the firmware? A fix to this issue is needed!

So - here's something to look at; if you're running the Reolink desktop application / service, it seems that you have additional control over the FTP configuration and it appears to override any settings that you've made by connecting to a camera directly via its IP interface - in other words, if you have specified 'File only' directly in the camera's configuration, but have a different configuration under the Reolink's desktop application - then the settings from the desktop application are the ones that are being followed. I just confirmed this across several different camera models and they are all now behaving the way that I've got them configured via the Reolink desktop application - FTP'ing images only, according to my schedule, with no videos being uploaded via FTP. I recommend using the Reolink desktop application to look at your FTP settings for your camera(s) and use it to configure as you wish rather than using the built-in configuration accessed directly via the camera(s) IP address.
