Poor quality images from Blue Iris and jpg Snapshot

When I view my Reolink cameras with the Camera's built in webserver streaming video, I get nice crystal clear images.
When I use the CGI Snapshot, I get images that are darker and slightly grainy.
When I use Blue Iris, I get grainy images that become ugly and horrible when the window is made small, such as using the all cameras view. My old 640x480 Foscam cameras have much better looking images in Blue Iris than my HiRed Reolink cameras.
What can be done to improve the quality when using other viewing methods than the built in webserver? -
