This problem started after the latest firmware upgrade. Any dark colors (green, black, grey) show up on my playback as red. In the screenshot I attached, my wife and I are both wearing dark jackets, but they appear to be red. Even the evergreen tree shows up as red.Any ideas?IMG_0004.jpg
The picture you uploaded is very helpful. I have not seen this happen with any of my cameras. Can you provide some additional details like what camera model, client used, NVR use, etc.? Hard to know for sure what it could be without more details. Anything more you can provide would be helpful.
Thanks for the response, Quella. The camera is a RLC-411 and it's plugged into one of the POE ports in the RLN8-410 NVR. I also have a RLC-420 plugged into the NVR and it works fine. I get the same issue regardless of client: Windows, iPad, or Android. I've had this camera for about 7 months now and it was working perfectly until I performed the latest firmware upgrade last week. I upgraded both of the cameras and the NVR as per the included instructions.Maybe something with the firmware on the camera screwed up, so I will try it again.
Well, it should be a problem of settings. You can go to image settings, then adjust the Contextual, and set it to auto and check.BTW, where did you get that picture? Was it from a snapshot from the Reolink Software?adjust-contextual.jpgimage-settings.png
Jshoota, If it was working correctly with the previous firmware, it sounds like it may have been something added to the recent code that caused it the new red view. When you updated the camera, did you safe and load the old config, check the box to upgrade the config, or start a clean config after upgrading the firmware? If you have the older firmware available (I save a few previous ones on a flash drive) apply the previous one and see if the problem goes away. Never fun to troubleshoot, but it seems more like a firmware items based on your acknowledging the camera worked fine prior to the upgrade. With the same result happening in any of the clients you use, that tells me it is something that is either the camera firmware (which I assume) or the NVR as you updated both as recommended. Your other camera is working fine, so I would downgrade the trouble camera and see if that corrects things.
So, uh, this is embarrassing. I double checked the IPC (Camera) firmware, and I mistakenly applied the firmware for the 420 to my 411. Doh. I applied the correct firmware last night and the problem has disappeared. Everything is back to normal. Add that to the known list of problems I guess? Thanks for the assistance guys. I appreciate it.
Thanks for the follow-up and letting us know the issue and how you resolved it. Glad to hear it was nothing major. I think this is something Reolink should work towards preventing in the future by not allowing one to apply a firmware image to the wrong device. This appears to not be unusual from other posts I have read and applying the right one fixes the issue, often a 411 or 411S version. It should be so easy that even my grandmother could do it.
Thank you Jshoota for letting us know the follow-up. Well, it's lucky you could still upgrade back to the original model. I thought the wrong firmware will kill the camera and cause permanent damage. At least this time users minght not worry too much even if they mistakenly choose the wrong firmware to update. What I do know is do not interrupt the upgrading process till its done. Or it will truly kill the camera. LoL
