Reolink motion detect issue, or is it an issue? Advise appreciated
-
Hi everyone,
First post so here goes.
I have installed 5mp Reolink cameras at my house, but I 'think' I have come up against a problem whereby when both cameras are pointing towards the same area, and both are set to detection on motion, only one kicks in and films when motion is detected, where I feel both should record, as both have identical settings.
Please see the video I have filmed here which will explain:

I look forward to any advice, on if they both should record, or not.
Thanks in advance

You did a great job documenting this situation. I agree that both cameras should detect motion and record. Have you posed this question to support@reolink.com? In my experience, it takes some time to get a response from them (in Hong Kong), but they are pretty good.

Hi, Yes, I have already sent the video, and details to Reolink, and waiting for their support, but I just wanted to see if any other users agreed with what is happening, in that it should record both cameras
Thanks for the reply -
With the >10 cameras in my system, most with overlapping views (as are yours), I've learned that the sensitivity must be tuned separately for each camera. One can't presume that the same sensitivity will work for all perspectives for the motion detection algorithm (unfortunately -- this would make set up much quicker). There will be false negatives with the algorithm used by any camera (I have different brand cams with differing algorithms mounted on the same pole (one is acts as an ALPR), and at times only one camera captures a passing vehicle. BTW, I use the Windows Reolink client for recording, not the NVR.
