Sorry everyone, not sure which forum to post this in. I just purchased 7 outdoor cameras along with the 8ch NVR. So far I love the system but there are some things that I cannot figure out. First off everything is setup properly and working great. First problem-I am using only MAC and when using the client software there is no optical zoom and no fast forward or rewind when using playback. Second-problem-When I use safari and try access the NVR by typing in the IP address it says document error:not found even though it pings perfect. Third problem-I don't know how to fix the first 2 problems Can you all help please
Welcome Brad to the forums. Brad: I just purchased 7 outdoor cameras along with the 8ch NVR. Quella: Glad for the new purchase and it is always exciting to have some new toys to play with. Brad: So far I love the system but there are some things that I cannot figure out. Quella: This is the right place to start asking your questions and hopefully get answers.Brad: First off everything is setup properly and working great. Quella: That is a wonderful place to start with, now on to your issues.Brad: First problem-I am using only MAC and when using the client software there is no optical zoom and no fast forward or rewind when using playback. Quella: There are a few questions in this one. First, it would be helpful if you told us the model of camera(s) you have as some do not support optical zoom while others do. If your camera supports it, look for the icon (under the PTZ section) that looks like a mountain and another near it that look like a person. Those are your zoom out (mountain) and zoom in (person) icons. Simply clicking on either of these will do the trick for you. If they do not work, the specific camera version/model you are using does not support zooming. Fast-forward and rewind are newer features and require you to be at the latest firmware version on the NVR and Cameras. I just use the click to move forward or backward on my Mac client. If I really need the fast forward, I do that at the NVR itself. Brad: Second-problem-When I use safari and try access the NVR by typing in the IP address it says document error:not found even though it pings perfect. Quella: I'm not sure I can answer your second question as I do not use a web browser to access the NVR, I do this all via the Mac client. If you have your cameras set to log to the NVR, you just need to know the IP of the NVR and tell the Mac client to access the NVR and not the individual cameras. This way you can see, configure, and modify the NVR and camera setting from a single point. Brad: Third problem-I don’t know how to fix the first 2 problems Quella: Hopefully this give you a few things to try and get you going. What do you get when you try to access the NVR using a smartphone client (iOS / Android)?
QuellaThank you so much for your reply so quick. In regards to the cameras they are a mix between the 410 and 420 I think the model numbers were. They do not have zoom but I am looking to use the digital zoom that is available if you are using the NVR directly and not in the app. The windows version of the software looks like it has it but not the mac client. The web browser access would be nice because I have my NVR tucked away so it is not easy to use it directly and browser access would provide the options that I need that are not available in the mac client. such as the digital zoom and also the ability to change the channel of the cameras etc.
Hi,Yes, this is something I am also looking forward to; to have the ability to digital zoom on the Livestream within the Web Browser.Hope the next firmware will provide this neat feature.
