Reolink...what is the update for this issue? I have just bought this cameara and this is a very disappointing start. This is a serious design flaw with the product. A strong wind could literally blow this camera off its mount.

Have you designed a new bracket yet??

@user_675532834635884_675532834635884 I don't know about the 820A or if they have changed the mount design. But I have two 833A. On the edge of the sides are two small marks. When installing turning the cam on the bracket I hear a click sound, the marks are lined up. It locks in place. It takes some force to go the other way to unsnap it. It does not move. Here's a link to Reolink Reddit, an old discussion about 820A mount. Someone suggested a little silicone caulk. Someone else said glue but I think that would be bad for later on...

It's November 2023, and I just received my 820A camera. I haven't plugged it in, nor have I mounted it.
I am here on this forum because I too was very disheartened with the mounting situation for this camera - so I went looking for further information.
It seems there are two issues with this camera:

          • The first relates to the mounting plate itself, and how it doesn't really hold onto the camera body. I see pictures of adhesive felt, and heatshrink that relate to this problem. After removing the rotating turret plastic part, and looking at it from the inside (see picture), I can see that if you twist it hard enough, it SHOULD snap into place quite firmly. I haven't done this yet.
          • The second relates to the turret itself (mounted or unmounted) spins way too freely. I am intending to buy some waterproof tape, and simply sticky tape (from the outside) the moving turret to the adjacent plastic part to stop it spinning or moving easily.

I completely agree with the other posts here that we shouldn't need to find solutions to make this work. The first problem can be overcome with some pictures in the Quick Start Guide showing and explaining that a lot of force is needed to snap it on securely to the plate. The second problem is a straight up design flaw as it should never be that loose of flimsy. A work around is needed.
          Good luck to you all.
