Hi all,I just purchased a Reolink system with the RLC-820A dome cameras. Is there anyway to secure the camera to the mount to help make it more secure? There does not appear to be a grub-screw or such to secure the camera to the mount. The camera appears to be very easy to simply remove from the mount, making it easy for anybody to steal or disconnect the camera.Any advice appreciated.ThanksAdam
Hi Adam, here is the installation method of the RLC-820A, https://support.reolink.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038450694-How-to-Mount-Reolink-Dome-Cameras. Please don't worry. It can be safe.
Hey Adam,i ran into the same problem and really liked the cameras but was hesitant of purchasing and installing as this issue was not really addressed .. so i thought about how to secure the dome type cameras more securely .. and i found a diy way .. i created a tether using aircraft cable (thin type but very strong .. hopefully ... but more for deterent if someone tries to remove the dome camera from the base unit .. please see pics of my installation .. so basically since the dome molding is metal .. but not the plastic adjaceent mold .. and since there is a dimpled space for sideways cable exit .. i instead used that sideways hole to place my aircraft tether line and made a hoop that hooped the metal molding then i ran the line back upwards through the base molding through the center hole into the eaves space and with an eye hook and carbiner at the end of my aircraft tether ... i fastened the line to the eyehook secured in the eaves space ... i had to link up several 12" aircraft tether lines to make it long enough to hook to eyescrew .. see pics for clarity.something similar to this was purchased .. https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B01M8JBFWJ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1plus i maxed out the sd card to 256gig and setup an ftp server to download the high quality pics/videos as security .. these POE cameras plus sd card plus ftp server plus diy tether are an awesome setup .. they don't look to industrial and fit into my residential setup ..hope this helps ..observer tether with cable going through center hole of base moldingobserver eyescrew installed in space with carbiner hooked onto to secure tether holding dome cameraobserve dome camera with diy tether for antitheft 20210422_151405_resized.jpg20210615_165836_resized.jpg20210615_170028_resized.jpg20210616_164255_resized.jpg20210616_171439_resized.jpg
