Initial set up. what am i doing incorrect in setting up my RLC411WS?

billy here. as simple as the RLC-411WS is, I can not get the camera to connect with my modem. what am I doing incorrect?

Thank you for posting your problem here.

Do you mean Wifi test failed when you try to get camera connected into the Router?
Would you please check below?
1. Your router Security Mode.
Reolink wifi camera can only support WPA/WPA2, rather than WEP.
2. If the security mode is correct, please check your password.
a). the current firmware can only support less than 16 characters.
b). there should be no space in the password
c). some special characters is not supported.

3.Are you using 2.4Ghz or 5.8Ghz wifi frequency?

Does your camera work fine when connected to router with ethernet cable?

I have the 410WS and nothing I do seems to let me connect to the camera to start initial setup. It is connected directly to my LAN via ethernet cable but does not appear when I scan for it.
Help please.
