Cam not accessible from webinterface/vlc, only after i login via APP

Hi
i have the RLC-410WS firmware v2.0.0.1215_16091802, connected via wifi
when i try to access the webinterface i dont get the login information just a "cant reach url" error
when i try to acces the stream via vlc and rtsp://xxxxxx:xxxxxxxx@ipaddress//h264Preview_01_main
i dont get a connection either.
i have to open the app on my phone wait for connection and then all the above works.
only after the app connects to the cam, i can access the webinterface and the stream with vlc but only for a certain time, than i have to login via the app again.
the cam is not setup to record anything or do any motion triggers.
i just want to watch the cam from time to time
is the cam in some kind of sleep mode or something?
how can i fix that? would it help to connect the cam via ethernet cable? -

i rather not,
i fixed it (kind of) i setup the cam to record to an ftp server (since a picture snapshot feature still isnt available, booo)
the cam is now accessible all the time -
