The website specifically calls out a Wi-Fi 2mp 1080p NVR (https://reolink.com/product/c1/). I just ordered one and am worried I may have jumped the gun and should have waited for the C1PRO. So, will my existing 8 channel POE NVR pickup the C1?

I am assuming I would have to do something like what is shown below. is this correct?

Secondly can the router shown be the same router I use to connect my LAN?

I'm holding out for the C1Pro myself.  But it looks like just connecting it via a WiFi connections would do the trick like their other WiFi devices and the image you attached.  If you have an existing NVR, it would take up a channel even though there is nothing plugged into one of the ports.  The 8-port NVR can handle a total of 8 devices (POE and/or WiFi) combined.

          Hello Benjamin,

Yes, the topology would be like the picture you attached. And the router is the same router which connects to the LAN port of your NVR.

So, I received my C1 and following the quick guide I came get it to connect connecting it with a cat6 cable to a LAN port on my router. This allows me to access the camera from both my mobile and computer.  I am also able to connect it directly to the NVR and it connects successfully there too.

Now the the issue I am having is connecting to the wifi I am getting wifi test failed both on mobile and on the computer.

I am using a Verizon FiOS router.

The setup guide mentions while on wan set up wifi.... this is unclear to me.  When I change the connection to the wan port on the router it doesn't recognize the C1

Please advise on he issue i am having with the wifi test.

I would like to set up the system like the topo in my original post above.

                Thanks

                ben

                  Hello Ben,

Please verify that your Wi-Fi password for the router is correct, you may confirm it within the web interface of your router.

The C1 needs to plug into the LAN port on the router, please do not plug it into the WAN port.

May I know what's the firmware version of your C1? You may check it under Device Settings > System > Information.

I am also trying to upgrade the firmware for the C1.  I have tried to use the LAN port on the back of the NVR (8 port), with the USB stick for the source of the C1 IPC_36S16M... file.  But this did not work.  Upgrade failed.  I will retry after the NVR upgrades to the latest firmware.

The C1 is new and it has only been connected to the NVR via the LAN port.  I have not tried to connect wireless yet.

                        Hi Benjamin and borealnvr

                        Sorry for the late reply

did you try upgrade to the latest 161009 firmware again and how did it go?
Please try upgrade via both NVR interface and Reolink Client on PC. If convenient, please also try connects your C1 to the same router as PC connects and upgrade on Reolink Client PC.

if upgrade still did not succeed anyway, would you please provide the upgrade failed screenshot if possible?
