I am trying to do what's known as "Edge recording" to surveillance station ,sadly this doesn't look possible due to Reolink limitations. The idea was to copy the SD footage which is setup to only record on motion,So i am looking for ideas:1.)Copy footage every 3 days on a schedule to NAS ( or NAS FTP . file share ect ) 2.)Be able to view the footage back via a mobile app (ideally reolink) 3.)Remove footage over 7 days old
Hi TDRL,Currently, Reolink IP cameras don't support "Edge recording” to a surveillance station. We'd like to forward your great idea to our senior engineer for future development. Thanks for sharing your ideas with us.
I have my new 410 doing this. It FTPs the detections, both video and stills, to my Synology NAS. I can then use the Synology app to access this over WAN, or simply as a shared folder over LAN. I manually remove files from NAS over time.
thanks for the tips. I have a FTP setup on my Synology NAS , how have you been able to schedule a copy of the SD card over to the FTP? within my setup i dont have a NVR
Maybe I'm not understanding. Are you getting detection videos sent to your NAS in realtime now? If so, why then copy the same thing from the sd card?
currently i am recording to the 32GB sd card inside each camera, what i want to do is copy those recording on a schedule to my NAS. I can see my FTP on the cameras but from what i can see its only there to record on either motion or 24/7 rather than copy function. trying to avoid lots of read writes to my NAS and have it only as a backup / archive of my camera recordings.
Hi, sorry that at present the FTP doesn't support the copy function you mentioned. If you don't want the camera to occupy much of your NAS storage, you may set it to record only motion events, or you may try to set the camera to record to your pc local storage. Thanks for your understanding!
