I purchased the Argus from Indiegogo and am very happy with them (except for the battery usage). I just noticed their is an Argus V2 that has rechargeable batteries and Solar Power. Now my question is can we as Argus v1 owners use the battery pack and solar charge in our version 1's. If not is there a possibility to make battery packs that will work on the V1's

Reolink Solar Panel is only compatible with Argus2 so far. It's not supported to connect Reolink Solar Panel to your Argus1 camera(s). For more information about Reolink Solar Panel, please read more at https://reolink.com/faq/reolink-solar-panel/
If you are interested in Argus2, you may check it out at https://reolink.com/product/argus-2/
Note: The biggest difference of Argus2 is that it has a rechargeable battery cover. So you don't have to rely on CR123A batteries any more. And Argus2 can be plugged in to the power outlet for non-stop power.

Mmmm... So I suppose when the cam is connected to the power outlet the internal battery pack works like an UPS, that's right? Which kind of cable and voltage-ampere are used?

Instead of a solar panel, have you thought about make an external large battery pack (15-20 ampere)?

            Hi Bob,

i saw that the argus 2 battery specs mentioned samsung 18650, 5200mah.
Is there a chance to in future replace this with our own 18650 batteries when the 1st set is spoilt?
Or does it mean that we will need to buy from Reolink again replacement batteries?

Right. And 5V 2A or 1A (Android or iPhone power adapters) are being used.

The battery back cover is part of the Argus 2 camera, which means the 18650 battery you get from other channels won't fit into the camera.
