NVR questions

I plan to buy the RLK8-800D4 bundle, so a 8 ports NVR and 4 4K cameras, I've a question on the video format.
about the NVR , seems that the RLN8-410 supports only the H-264 video format, while the D800 camera support H-265 video format.
Could you please tell me what video format is used in the RLK8-800D4, ?

Regarding the video compression format: for Reolink 8MP cameras (B800 and D800), the compression type of main-stream is H.264+and the compression type of the sub-stream is H.264.
The video encapsulation format used by all Reolink cameras is MP4. So the video's format we download via Reolink Client or Reolink app is MP4. But when using USB disk to backup videos directly from Reolink NVR, you could choose either H.264 or MP4 video files.

I'm a little bit confused, you wrote that the video format for 4k cameras is H264+ while the specification says h265.
I plan to use the continuous recording, so the video format could make a big difference in file size...
About the NVR, I understood that only the RLN16-410 hardware V2 supports H265 (and H264). and it will came without hard drive. Am I right?

For the first question, could you please submit a request to our support team at support@reolink.com? Our support team will double-check with our engineer when they are at work and if there is any progress they will contact you as soon as possible.
For the second question, yes, for 16-channel NVR, only the new version can support 4K cameras. There is a 3TB HDD in it. https://reolink.com/product/rln16-410/

My 2 cents is if you are buying all new just get the smart people recognition 4K cameras they work great.
You get then setup only people/vehicle recording which takes very little space. Or also motion detect recording which with a 4TB hard drive and 8 cameras will give you a solid 2 weeks
