So definitely no wireless mouse capabilty with the RLN8-410?
-
Holy crap it worked!
This $15 wireless mouse from amazon works with my RLK16-410, and is even available on amazon prime One-Day delivery!

One weird thing that I noticed though is that the wireless mouse doesn't work on the USB port in the back of the NVR. It only works on the USB port in the front. My wired mouse works just fine on the back port, just not the wireless one. -
Just placed my order
-
I tried a Microsoft Arc Mouse - it too fails to work.
-
Interesting. I just tried the logitech I have used on my computer I think for at least 5 years. It works flawlessly on both front and rear usb ports.
This is my actual mouse...

After reading a few more posts in this thread I again tried my Microsoft Arc mouse but this time in the front USB port. It actually works!
-
tinman thanks for sharing! That is really weird that some mice work on the back port and others don't. Which model of NVR do you have?
-
I have the RLN8-410-E.
-
timbercreek/glenn, did you guys get your $15 mouse from amazon yet? Does it work for you guys?
-
According to Amazon tracking, mine is due to arrive tomorrow.
-
Yes received mine yesterday, works both front and rear ports.
-
I'm glad my injection (even some 2 years or so after the original post) has helped you out. All we need to do now is compile a list of which ones are verified to work and specify if it's front, back or either USB port.
@Cynthia. Is this something you could manage by putting a pinned topic on the main page if we give you the information? -
I bought a logitech M185 specifically to use on my NVR. I never paired it with anything. The dongle doesn't even have the unifying logo on it, but it still doesn't work with my NVR.
I also tested my logitech mouse out with a USB analyzer (https://www.adafruit.com/product/708) to see if I could figure out why it was not working with my NVR. It did not announce itself as a mouse, it showed up as a wireless dongle or something like that, and then started dropping packets left and right. I don't have the analyzer anymore, but I could still analyze my new mouse on my laptop with wireshark software as a comparison (I just can't use wireshark to debug problems while connected to the NVR). -
Just to throw this out there. It might be the embedded Linux. Not all mouses will work. After some research I have found 4 that are listed for DVR / NVR.
Logitech M185,
Logitech M310, (which I have, works front and rear)
Logitech M325,
Logitech M510.
Also try to plug in the receiver then reboot NVR. -
Could not edit my post:
So we know the 185 does not work. (as tried here) And a few reviews I found state that it will not work. (Even tho it was listed as compatible)
A couple reviews on Reolink NVR from may 4th 2020 shows the Logitech M505 as working (wow, $100 for that), and an older Logitech 305 was working. -
Glenn, that's great! Glad to hear that this mouse is working for you since you started this thread 3 years ago. Does it work on both USB ports, or just the front one?
-
Just out of curiosity, of those using the Unifying receiver, what colour is the INSIDE of the connector: white, black, blue or some other colour?
-
I never got around to trying the rear USB port. Once I plugged into the front and verified it working properly, I just left it there.
-
Unifying seems to not work, but that may be a red herring. There have been no reports of any new Logitech mice working. Only old ones. I bought a Logitech M185 because somebody had an old M185 that was working. My brand new M185 does not work, even though that particular model does not have the unifying logo on the dongle.

White.

My logitech non unifying receiver is red.
