I have used all the ports on my 8Ch NVR

I would like to add one more hard-wired PoE camera.

      What are my options?

Please kindly note that we can add up to 8 cameras to the 8 channel NVR. We cannot any the 9th camera to the 8 channel NVR. Thanks.

          Thank you Cynthia,

This may have seemed a silly question as we know there are only 8 ports on the 8Ch NVR

However, I think I have read, here in this forum, that some people have successfully connected additional 'view only' cameras somehow?

I think, maybe using a PoE switch on the same network?

If so, I hope someone will explain what equipment they used and how they got everything working.

Hi, since the camera only has 8 channels, it can support at most 8 cameras.
Even you use the poe switch to connect the cameras, each camera still will occupy one channel.
            Thanks!

              Hello Cynthia,

              Thank you

Understood but if I install an additional camera using a PoE switch, will I be able to view it via the Mac desktop client?

I have the LIVE VIEW screen configured to show 3 x 3 cameras.

I currently have 8 cameras so there is one available space.

Hi, yes, if you install an additional camera using a PoE switch, you can live view the camera separately as well.
And also, it can be added to the NVR system as a kit camera of the system.

But please note, if that camera is from the NVR package (not purchased separately), then, when it works with the PoE switch, you can only connect to it via Client software in the local network, and it doesn't support remote connection.

if that camera is from the NVR package (not purchased separately)

This implies the cameras you supply in the NVR/Camera Package are different to those you sell separately?

If so, what is the difference between the two versions and why is this necessary?

I am particularly interested in the latest 4K Bullet Cameras as I purchased the 8Ch NVR / 4 x 4K Bullet Camera Bundle and 3 additional 4K Bullet Cameras.

The camera from the NVR package has no UID and does not support DDNS.
Therefore, they can't support remote access.

                    Thanks for your understanding.
