I've been searching the web and these forums to try and work out what I'm doing wrong with regards to activating port 554 for RTSP. So far haven't found anything that works.I've found the information re the URL to use, ie of the form rtsp://test123:*****@*****:554/h264Preview_01_main (and tried lots of permutations on this).I've set up a non-admin user and tried the URL with both admin and the non-admin but I never get a connection.I have checked that port 554 is configured as the port for RTSP. (via Windows software)Finally, I've done a nmap scan of the camera and it only reports that port 9000 is open. So it looks like port 554 isn't actually open/monitoring for connections. Somehow I need to find how to open port 554. I've been through pretty much every configuration setting I can find but nothing causes the port to open.I was intending to use the camera with other software via the RTSP so I'm a bit scuppered at the moment.Cheers to anyone who can shed some light.Dave
I have had limited luck on this but have managed to get it to work with other software via rtsp. What software in particular?
Sometimes the main stream could be harder to load, and you may use the sub stream. And also, some particular cameras, like the Kit camera of a PoE NVR system (B400, D400, B800 and D800), don't support RTSP stream. If your media player doesn't work, you may try VLC player or Potplayer.
Thanks for your replies. I've tried with VLC so far as that's my goto for testing. I've tried the sub stream rtsp://user:password@***:554/h264Preview_01_sub but it just seems to timeout. I'm expecting to see a non-closed port when I scan port 554 with nmap so despite setting the RTSP on port 554 via the software I just don't think it's actually open/listening.
My cousin have a similar camera settings. We usually play toon blast and adjusting the lens for better capture.
E1 camera doesn't support RTSP stream, you may refer to this guideline to check what models support RTSP stream.https://support.reolink.com/hc/en-us/articles/900000617826-Which-Reolink-Products-Support-CGI-RTSP-ONVIF
