I bought 2 of the 423 cameras which come with an audio input jack for an external microphone. However I don't see any external mics sold by Reolink. Exactly what kind of mic is compatible with this camera? I have a few old, cheap computer standalone mics that came with a sound card, will one of those work?
Hi, about the microphone, please kindly refer to Tiny Spy Microphone. Also you need a RCA Male to RCA Male Adapter Connector with it.All above is only for reference, if your microphone support the RCA socket. It also can work.
I know this is a old thread, but I cant find a answer to how to connect one up? My 423 camera is using Poe so no other power is being used, how then do I power the mic if the camera is power by ethenet? Thanks.
@ripdoCommonly, an external mic like this ought to be powered by its own power adapter.
@BobSo is there not a POE splitter with a power loop through that will power both the mic and camera?https://www.amazon.co.uk/Security-Camera-Inline-Microphone-Through/dp/B00BIFTLOW/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1531471241&sr=8-4&keywords=cctv+micThanks, Dan.
A POE splitter may work as it has the proper ratings with the mic. The PoE splitter takes input from a PoE switch/injector, not from a camera.
