      Hi guys,

Many of you may receive an email from Google that you may lose access to Apps that are using less secure sign-in technology on May 30.
"To help keep your account secure, starting May 30, 2022, Google will no longer support the use of third-party apps or devices which ask you to sign in to your Google Account using only your username and password."

Some users may be confused. “Does it mean that I can no longer receive the email alerts using the Gmail from the Reolink devices? Should I change to another email?”

Don’t worry. You can still use Gmail to receive alerts from the Reolink devices. But you need to use the APP password generated by Gmail. Here is the how-to guide.

      1. Enable two-step verification in Gmail
The APP password will only be available for the account that enables the two-step verification. You can follow the guide in the Google support center to enable it, https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/185833?hl=en.

      2. Generate the App password for Reolink APP
You can have the step-by-step guide in this article,
      https://support.reolink.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039461654-How-to-Generate-an-APP-Password-in-Gmail-Email-Account.

      3. Copy the APP password and input it as the email password in Reolink APP/Client.

Using app passwords is a more secure way, no matter for your mailbox or Reolink device. After you successfully change your email password to the app password, you can still receive email alerts from your Reolink device normally. (If you find the email error in the Reolink APP, you can use the APP password to try.)

Please let me know if you have any questions.

I have tried two-factor verification and setting up App password, but receive error message. "Incorrect email password or SMTP not enabled. Please troubleshoot as follows: Step 1: Make sure SMTP server is enabled for you email. For details of how to enable, it please contact the email provider. Step 2: Make sure that you enter the correct email address and password. Some email can only be accessed by entering an app password. Please set the app password and try again."

@user_587491131846695_587491131846695 Have you tried to check the SMTP setting of the email? You can find the support article of the email service provider. If it still can't work, try to submit a request here, Search Anything on Reolink - Reolink.

I used this method to fix a gmail account I exclusively use for my Reolink NVR. I didn't have two factor turned on, then google changed things.
This article gave me the information needed to fix the email issue.
