Reolink App v4.41 Released
Is there anyone with a GO PT in Canada and if so, which carrier were you able to get a sim card from? So far I am not having any luck. I'm about to just return the whole camera. Bell - who is my cell service provider - will sell me a sim card for data, but when I give them the IMEI number they say it is not valid or its not a recognized device. Please help! I was really hoping this camera would work for us. Is there any way around this sim card issue when you are in Canada????
@candacesirianni_523785854226598 We recommend the following service providers in Canada to you, Rogers, Vidéotron, Freedom Mobile, SaskTel, and Fido. If you still meet problems, please send a video of the setup and your SIM card information to our support team. Our technical staff will try to help. Submit a request – Reolink Support
@candacesirianni_523785854226598 hi by any chances did a sim card work for you here in canada??? I just bought the camera and I am a Telus user but this camera is not supported by them. thanks
@user_607280705777699_607280705777699 IMEI is only used in mobile network to block calls in the event the smartphone is stolen. It has no added value in tge call/sms flow. What you need to check is the bands which is supported by both the operator and the 4G/5G module of the camera. In my country mobile operators deliver their 2G, 3G, 4G and 5G mobile services on the following bands.
So if the camera supports any of these bands then it will work without any issue. You need to ask reolink support to provide the bands supported by the camera you purchased and then check with the operator. Local operators are regulated by the national communication authority and are authorised to use the respective bands.
@joseph-chircop_497308027822318 They need the IMEI to push you the APN configuration (this is a name which points to a profile used by the PCRF to determine the UL and DL together with the QOS). But this can be easily added in the camera similar to what is done on a smartphone.
