Unable to Reset Lock screen password

Pressed the "lock" icon on the screen by error. Forgot the pa*sword to unlock that. MacOS. The lockscreen pa*sword must be different to the camera pa*sword, because entering that does not unlock the screen. Tried everything now, inc deleting the application, reloading from the website what I thought was a new, pristine, virgin copy, nah, still comes back with a locked screen.
I reset the camera on the ipad and iphone, but that doesn't solve the lockscreen on MacOS.
Any ideas please ?
