I am operating my Argus in very dim conditions. Not bright enough for video without IR LEDs switched on. That is my problem. If I switch on the IR LEDs, the battery lasts about three to four weeks. I know that the switch for the IR LEDs is in the software, so, why can't someone write a bit of software, that only switches on the IR LEDs when they are needed, as with some movement detected? If this was possible, you'd be able to hear me cheering from Northern Ireland. Thanks for reading.
Hi, it is that only switches on the IR LEDs when they are needed, as with some movement detected or you access it.Also, you may refer to https://support.reolink.com/hc/en-us/articles/360006384713-Learning-the-working-mode-and-the-LED-status-on-the-Reolink-Argus-Argus-Pro-Argus-2.
Hello Carl, I wonder if I am making a mistake, or maybe you do not understand my problem. (At present I cannot confirm the operation of the camera, because I have had to switch it off and remove the batteries. The infra-red issue has me stalled.) The full story is:- "I am trying to find out how mice are getting into my loft. I do not want to poison them (as was suggested) I just want them not to get in. So, I thought that if I place the camera in the loft (total darkness) that I will be able to find out how they are getting in and block that entrance." In the settings, on my mobile phone app, I can switch ON the INFRA-RED LEDs to be switched ON in dim lighting conditions. The loft is in permanent dim lighting condition. When I switch this function OFF, I get NO picture. Just a blank screen. So, the setting is FULL ON in dim light (my loft) or OFF. With the result my battery life is shortened by about 5 months.
