      Hi,

I cannot installed the Reolink client (010915261659345326.952.exe, which I renamed after download to ReolinkClient.exe) on my server in a datacenter.
The server runs Windows 2016 Datacenter edition (which is normally higher than the required Windows 7 to run the client app)

I doubleclick on the install exe and it just does nothing, no error message or anything.
In the Event Viewer I see in the Application log the Error event :

Faulting application name: Reolink Client.exe, version: 8.8.1.0, time stamp: 0x5a6fed7c
Faulting module name: System.dll, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x5a6fed15

The issue is caused by some invalid, unsigned, or incomplete DLL files which are missing or not available in your Win 2016 Datacenter. I suggest you to open a ticket with Reolink support and attach the crash file and any other useful information.

            Hello,

thank you for the suggestion. I've sent an email to support, with a copy of this post and also a link to it.

But after I sent the email, I've decided to tinker around a bit with the "Compatibility settings" in the contextmenu when rightclicking the installer exe, and if I ran it in Compatibilty modus set to "Windows 8", the client installed without a hiccup !

So in case someone from support is reading this, all is well now ! My apologies for the overhead.

            Kind regards,
            Sven.

@hcd_610839492595771 I don't have Win 11 yet due to company policy. I forgot this. Too much work. This is what we used to do when we upgrade Windows and run into dll issues. Try to opt for Win10 if available under compatibility mode.

How do you like the client? I have been waiting on the 36 channel NVR but I am wondering if using the client might help with automation.
