How to record earlier

I have the Reolink 4k security camera system with wired Turret 4k cameras. I have it set to record before the event and for 2 minutes after but it seems I catch the tail end of an event. How do I get it to start earlier? Also if I don't set a minimum or maximum object size under the detection tab will it record anything that trips it? I want to catch small animals on my deck.

@user_614824849178671_614824849178671 You can try to enable the pre-motion record button in the record setting first. To make it more sensitive to the motions, you can try to higher the sensitivity in the alarm settings. It doesn't matter if you set up the object size or not. You can choose to set the object size or not per your demand.
