After waiting for my two video door bells since September, I finally received them.
In doing my preliminary prep work for installation I was shocked to discover a major flaw in the design.
My house has a front door and a back door (big surprise). However, when someone comes to either door there is no way to tell which door they are at. The support people inform me that the chime can not tell which video door bell initiated the alert, so you don't know which door someone is at, nor which door video to look at is you don't use a Reolink VDR.
Seems to me like a very shortsighted view of the market place and design.
Also, they don't mention anywhere what the communication is between the door bell and the chime when pairing. Is it Bluetooth or Zigbee or what?
After waiting so long for these I'm disappointed in the implementation of the chime design.

I have 10 reolink cameras in use and the perform really well. Overall I'm pretty pleased with them.
The jury is still out on the video door bells however.
      Glenn...

@glenn-tracy_460916285792453 You need to install them independently and setting different chimes.

Communication between the doorbell and the chime is achieved through 433GHz channel. Most probably a proprietary protocol.

What I really wish to see is allowing customers to use their existing chime similar to what Ring offers and to use SIP calling to call your smartphone. I see these two features as a must have if Reolink want to compete with its competitors in the doorbell market.
