I have an Argus 2E camera recording to an SD card. It detects motion and sends alerts OK. However, in most cases my recordings are very short. Most of the time 4 seconds. I have changed the recording time to 30 sec in the settings, but it makes no difference.
Why does camera stop recording so quickly after successfully detecting motion?Reply QuoteShare1- Share this Post

@gdkace_662252126924877 It might be there are errors while writing to SD. Did you try to format the SD or replacing it? Try to bind it to the cloud using the free storage plan and check it out.

@joseph-chircop_497308027822318 Thanks for your advice. Yes, SD card was formatted. Even several times while in the camera.
With respect to cloud, I am trying to use Basic cloud plan and so far am getting message "device is bound to another account". Not too sure what it means, but I have not spent too much time investigating it. Any help on how to "unbind" camera to make it available for cloud binding will be appreciated.
Sorry, scratch the last point. I just realised that camera was shared to another phone. After deleting it there, I can now add it to cloud plan.
Cloud recordings are better. They seem to be always 8 sec regardless of the camera recording duration setting. -
@gdkace_662252126924877 the free plan is 8s per clip as indicated in https://support.reolink.com/hc/en-us/articles/900000641926-Introduction-to-Reolink-Cloud
This means that the camera is able to record more than 4s. Do you have another SD? Can you check if there are errors on the SD?
Place the microsd in the adapter and inserted in Win PC. Check the disk letter assigned and from command prompt use chkdsk sddiskletter/f
There are many tools to test and verify the SD.
