      Hi All,

I run a RLK16-820D8-A system, which includes the RLN16-410 NVR and RLC-820A cameras, which have person/vehicle/pet detection. The other day I had the police knock on my door to query me as to whether my cameras have caught footage of a neighbour's house being broken into a couple of nights earlier. At that point, I set out to determine whether my cameras had indeed captured the event, but, unfortunately, this turned out to be quite arduous as I soon discovered that I had to manually watch through hours of footage.

This is because person and vehicle detection events are only logged for detections that occur within my established detection zones. That is, I have the detection zones setup so that I only receive push notifications when someone ventures past a certain point onto my property, as I don't want a notification every time someone simply walks along the footpath outside my house or a car drives along the street. Whilst this works great, it also means that I cannot simply go into playback (via the app) and then select person or vehicle detections, and then see clips of every person or car that walked along the footpath or drove down the street, as the footpath and street are outside my detection zones.

My point is that it would be great if there were separate settings for a 'detection zone' (entire camera field of view) and a 'notification zone'. I'd like my cameras to detect every person, vehicle or pet within the camera’s entire field of view (i.e. anyone that walks past my house and every car that drives down the street), and I’d like to be able to filter to show these detections during playback, but I only want to be notified when a person or vehicle ventures into a certain region, a “notification zone”.

So, when it comes to playback, I'd like to be able to filter to show:

      (i) person / vehicle / pet detections within the entire field of view - this would allow me to filter to see every detection event for every person, vehicle, or pet that came into the camera’s field of view, regardless of whether they were on my property or across the road, but I would not receive push notifications for any of these detections.

(ii) person / vehicle / pet detections within the 'notification zone' – this would allow me to filter to see detection events for every person/vehicle/pet that ventured onto my property within the designated zones of interest that I had masked/established within the field of view (i.e. my front porch or driveway), and I would receive a push notification based upon my notification settings.

I think having person/vehicle/pet detection for the entire field of view as well as for the detection/notification zone would greatly improve the functionality of the camera systems, especially when it comes to finding footage of events that did not occur within established detection zones.

@jp_303544246644872 I fully agree and I did a similar request in the past. I will inform them again. It would be appreciated if you make a feature request at https://support.reolink.com/hc/en-us/requests/new/

@joseph_1979 feature request submitted! I don't see why this wouldn't be possible to introduce via a firmware update for any cameras/systems that already support person/vehicle/pet detection.
