I just bought a Reolink Argus 2 and I'm pretty satisfied with manufacturing and image quality. However I was really dissapointed that the camera is only usable with the Reolink software (I could have known before If I had done some more research ). This makes this camera almost unusable for me and it is just a nice gimmick or toy.Is there any documentation on the used protocol available? Are there any plans to support integration into thirdparty software? The minimum functionality that I would require:* Trigger recording* Retrieve recording (Mail, FTP, HTTP... I don't care as long as I can implement it)I would like to integrate the camera in my home automation and I'm willing to do some coding but I would like to avoid doing everything by reverse engineering. While I understand that the camera can't support a permanent live stream due to battery constraints I don't understand at all why no interface at all is provided.Dominik
No. The battery powered Wifi cameras can only be used with Reolink software. Full stop.
That's a pity as there is no technical reason for this limitation. And as the motion detection of the camera does not work for me and if it would work only send a picture the camera is almost useless Will need to try some reverse engineering of the protocol.
