Re: Restricting NVR playback access on guest user
I had a similar issue where I didn't want users accessing the playback via the NVR. I was able to solve this by using a wireless router, a POE router and the mobile/tablet app:

      1. Connect the POE cameras to the POE router
      2. Connect the NVR LAN port to the POE router (uplink port). If the POE router only has a single uplink port, then connect the NVR LAN port to the wireless router
      3. Connect the wireless router to the POE router (uplink port)
      4. As each camera has 2 "main streams", it's possible to add them directly to the app from the wireless router network, and also add them to the NVR
      5. Accessing the cameras directly via the app (and not via the NVR), ensures playback is not possible

Hope this helps anyone in a similar situation. If anyone is interested in the kit I used, or a diagram of the setup, or more detailed steps, please leave a reply.

@milezee It is always recommended to have the cameras connected to a POE switch. In this way you can connect directly to the cameras individually and you can assign a different user to each camera something which you cannot do if tge caneras are connected directly to the NVR.
