After the Firmware upgrade on the cameras (Version: 1168_16070803) the file format appears to be changed for the recorded files on the SD card. Windows 10 thinks it is MP4 format. When I select Playback, Local Playback the file select window appears. The client software looks for the 264 format when trying to do a local playback of downloaded files from the DownloadFile directory and does not see the other format; the list appears empty. Tip/Trick; in the file name of the file select window, near the bottom, type *.* (star dot star) and press enter, this will bypass the 264 choice that you can not change from in the file type. Now you can see and load the files into the playlist in the client... and the client crashes and shuts down... Reolink Client Windows v7.1.2.351. Choice of file type in the local playback is limited.2. The file type of the downloaded files does not match the available choice.3. The Reolink Client Windows v7.1.2.35 will crash when attempting local playback.
I am having the same problem,I need to go back to the beta version v7.1.2.31 this version worked fine
With the latest firmware, the file format of the recorded file is MP4 instead of H.264, currently Local Playback on the client software only support the file format of H.264, since MP4 could be run by most of the popular player, we did not add that function on the client software. Please use the player on your computer to play the vedio you need. As to the crash issue, we have tested on Windows 7 and Windows 10 with no problem. Version v7.1.2.36 of the Reolink Client Software has already released, please try and install the latest one on your computer. Thanks!
I have a rcl 410 camera and I have installed the latest software and firmware. The problem is the camera will record a motion event on my computer but when i try to open the file for local playback the file disappears and there is a message that says no match found,Everything worked fine with software version v7.1.2.31
Hi, Kdniff,With the latest firmware, the file format of the recorded file is MP4 which can be run by most of the popular player, please use the player on your computer to play the vedio instead of adding it to the Reolink client software for play back.
Thank you , That took care of the problem I can watch my files on windows media player.Thank you for your help
