Just bought the 8 cameras (410) 3TB 16 channel NVR. My network closet is all run headless. Just checking to make sure.....I assume the NVR setup has to be done with a monitor. I have a Lenovo i7 tiny, that runs some VM's and I drive it from Team Viewer. My plan is to have Reolink client running on it for the user interface to the NRV. I was hoping the client would discover the NVR and I could also set it up. Unless I am missing something, I guess I will need to hook up a monitor for the initial setup. Just in case there is a way I thought I would ask.So is there a way to set up the NVR headless? Also future questions, I do not see a Linux client. Again, I am new and could have missed something. I was hoping to use a Raspberry PI running the client, to display the cameras through one of the TV HDMI ports. But first things first, get the NVR setup, cameras installed, and then start having fun.
Hi Paul, yes, you can use the Reolink Client on PC(Windows or Mac) to set up the NVR. Refer to Add Reolink Cameras/NVRs to Reolink Client. But we don't have the Linux client for it.
Hi, to initial set up the NVR via the Reolink Client. You may just finish the installation and connection on the NVR and cameras, then log in the NVR via the Reolink Client on the LAN to set it up. When you connect the NVR's LAN port to the router, it will obtain an IP address from the router automatically. And the default login account is "admin" without the password. For the Raspberry PI, I'm not familiar with it. Hope you may get help from other users. But for the Home Assistant, we have the plan in next year and you may subscribe our emails to get the news: https://reolink.campgn4.com/Subscribe-Us.Have a nice day!
Hi Paul, you may submit a request to the support team and ask them to add you to our beta plan testing users list and they will contact you when they need the test help. Have a nice day!
