I am about just rip out everything Reolink and never recommend it to anyone again. I mean the most BASIC elements are either missing, broken, or removed after a botched firmware update. The latest: the Windows client app has ZERO functionality to save the camera layout. Nope. Imagine spending the time placing 16 cameras in an order to make logical sense EVERY TIME THE APP IS STARTED or EVERY TIME YOU SWITCH LAYOUTS. What an absolute garbage experience. And when I submitted a support request / feature request for this, they start with the same process having NOTHING TO DO with what I am saying. HOW BASIC is a save layout function????????????????????????????????????
This ended up being..... ANOTHER REOLINK BUG (but two factor):Factor 1 - The NVR had no timer tab in scheduling.Factor 2 - The NVR firmware polling Reolink reported it was already on the latest firmware (so no update was reported or loaded if using the NVR GUI or Windows Client on the NVR and trying the 'Check for Latest Version').After searching manually for a new firmware I found the recent Aug 3, 2025 update which, after manually updating, reveals.......... THE TIMER TAB.But guess what bug still exists! That's right the "no audio on high speed playback if viewing only one channel" bug. One must go to the 4 channel view (even if only viewing one channel) to have audio on high speed playback. Reolink needs to be renamed to BUGLink. Crazy how buggy Reolink is.
Before being able to access your cameras again through their web interface, you will need to access the camera settings through a reolink client app or NVR and re-enable the HTTP protocol. Nobody knows why Reolink does such strange things like COMPLETELY change device configuration on a firmware update. Just one of so many unexplainable / unprofessional Reolink attributes. I have now used my one post every 24 hours to answer your question (another ridiculous reolink thing). So I can't help the other two people I have answers for.
@workoholicspam_335979423842535 , please let me know what came of this. I know this is an old topic but I just had the same thing happen to me from "NEW" firmware. Why TF would they remove Exposure, Shutter, Backlight, and 3D DNR with the newer firmware? Now my RLC-511 Cameras and RLC-410 cameras with this firmware "update" are useless. I have attached a before and after. Sadly, the only reason I started to update firmware on these cameras was because my RLN36 NVR did not have a timer tab for recording schedule. That turned out to be a BUG IN THE NVR FIRMWARE. geeeez Reolink, seriously. Here is what Advanced Display Settings were before the new firmware:The advanced display settings after the firmware update (SMH):
This community is dead. Probably better response rate on Reddit. Anyway, I solved the issue myself by finding the next previous version of the firmware and rolling back the firmware on the cameras.Sadly, I have tried helping several people who have recently posted but as a new user I am limited to one post per 24 hours until a magic fairy grants me points. <---- This, if you ever wonder why the Reolink Community forum is so inactive.
These guys might make some great cameras at an amazing price point, but the software side / User Experience / NVR features are far behind. The software weakness is further supported by the mind-boggling firmware updates to the cameras that literally drop features.
@joseph_1979 , Yes. And I was already familiar with the "coin flip / finger cross / random camera click / easter egg / only works sometimes" method of hoping the layout magically returns. It doesn't work the majority of the time. Moreover, it is just embarrassing to resort to anything like that in an attempt to have the layout in the camera order you desire. I will also add (again), the finger-cross method also doesn't address the need to have *multiple* presets saved and available to choose from. In my case, where there are 16 cameras, the 4, 6, 8, 9 etc... camera view should have perhaps 3 to 5 saved layouts (of designated zones) readily available to choose from. Call me spoiled if you want, but more accurately call me ungrateful for not appreciating these entry level features I enjoyed for 15 years using Digifort.
@kimchigun , great. Wait until it doesn't. Or wait until you have 16 + cameras and you want to have 4 channel presets for different zones. Forget it. There is not save presets.
@joseph_1979, I can't deal with this anymore. I am so tired of running the windows client app to find none of my layouts how I need them. What a true piece of garbage experience. How is there no SAVE LAYOUT presets? HOW????
I recently discovered a new downstream switch (Netgear GS308P) was not getting along with any of the 3 reolink cameras. This caused a lot of what you're describing from a UE stand point. One thing to check to investigate if there may be a switch incompatibility is full time recording. If you playback where you expect full time recording and you notice a very consistent pattern of small dead spots (black / blank / no recorded footage), then you may have a switch that just doesn't play well. I did so much testing on this and actually can't really say it was an incompatibility with the cameras (as it could have also not been playing well with the NVR). Just try to sub out the switch and see what happens. Might save you some time and guess work.
