Can you please add next/prev buttons to video player (windows client). Thank you
Hi. I own RLC-542WA camera with motion detection and I'm not sure why such a thing like FTP postpone exists. Can anybody explain please?I've set up FTP upload as a security measure against physical damage or camera theft. To my surprise, videos uploaded to FTP server were missing the beginning. It's important for me to see what triggered the motion recording and what was happening. If the camera was stolen I wouldn't have a chance to see the footage. Maybe it's just how I am used to competitor's system where after a video is recorded and finalized, it's uploaded to FTP server. That also may not be the best approach, but at least when I review videos from server, they are complete and not trimmed like from Reolink. What's the point of having incomplete footage on FTP server? If users could define how many seconds of pre-motion video is recorded, that would probably solve the whole issue.
I am using windows 10 with the latest client to connect to my PoE cameras (which are in a remote location). Camera work fine - I can tell by using android reolink app (via wifi, so phone and computer use same internet connection) which works just fine. But windows client has some kind of problems. It takes way too long to establish connection. Sometimes it even says it the camera is disconnected, but then it finally loads image and camera can be operated. I tried to revert the app to previous version but this did not help. I have not made changes to windows system and every software works just fine and internet is fast enough (80/25 mbit/s connection). Anyway, this behavior started to occur just few weeks ago, maybe late August / early September. Does anyone else have these connection problems? Previously the camera connection was instant upon opening the windows client, now it takes maybe 10-15 seconds.
Hello. I would like to have advanced wifi settings where I could define a secondary/backup wifi. I have my primary wifi and this is backed up by my secondary wifi. If the camera fails to connect to the main wifi, It could search for any other known (used-defined) wifi and connect to that. Wifi would switch to the one with stronger signal. Can this be done?
@reolink-fiona Currently windows client has three buttons in Playback mode: Advance Frame by Frame, Play/Pause and Speed. If I want to navigate to next or previous record, I have to either wait for next video to load or drag cursor to next or previous video. NEXT and PREV buttons would make this much more easier and quicker. It would basically work just like any audio / video player ever made.
I wish you could add detection of rain drops and wind-based movements so these events can be filtered out. Many of us have this problem, if its either rain drops passing by in front of lens or a tree branch that suddenly moves a little. All could be filtered out IMHO. A thin glaring line heading from top to the bottom, sometimes with an angle or a tree branch that moves within a defined limits. Hope you figure out these problems and make our surveillances better.
Hello. It would be great if there was a possibility to silence the notifications for a period of time. For example - if I get push notification that camera has detected motion and the activity in the area is friendly and expected to last some time, I would like to suspend notifications for that particular camera (or set of cameras) for a certain period of time. After selected time (from a predefined array of times), all notifications would resume to normal. Suspend notifications for camera 1,2,3 for 15,30,60,120 minutes... etc. This could be also implemented in form of a scene, where upon selecting scene a time period for that scene would be applied. This way, users wouldn't have to worry about forgetting dis/arming camera. So if I select a scene named "no alerts" with time 60 minutes, that would revert to previous (or default or user defined) scene.
@reolink-fiona Hello. Yes I have the latest firmware and I can see the push interval. It's unfortunate that I can set only 20,30,60 and 120 second interval. I would be great if there could be a custom interval. Or maybe even a 5 min interval. Anyway, the original idea was a temporary suspension of all notifications for a camera or a certain set of cameras. You usually want the interval to work as set up, but my idea was to suspend all notification in case you encounter a friendly activity. If you monitor a certain area and for instance your family is there and you know they will be in the picture for a while you probably don't want notifications every two minutes, right? You could set up a privacy filter or detection zone, but then you would have to keep that in mind and not forget to revert that setting.
Hello. This idea is interesting. Can I add some suggestions? Maybe this could be a part of something bigger, like a "security" tab/page. It could contain access control based on IPs or subnets, maybe automatic logoff time settings, options of loggins IP addresses - how many, send login/logoff notifications via email or push or upload to ftp as a file, camera settings modification alerts (basically audit log), etc...
@joseph-chircop_497308027822318 this is doable if there is a constant sound, like machine buzzing in the background. but even so, i would let user the an option - the ability to override such feature and manually set equalizer to the user's need.
@joseph_1979 that means there is no point in having wishlist on this forum then
@joseph_1979 dev team does not read the forum/wishlist?
@joseph_1979 just to be super-clear, client (android for example) should be just displaying camera's network stats and when generating network load, this also should be done solely between camera and reolink server (or nvr). client just displays the result. no proprietary code or service needs to be utilized, just use something like iperf3 (free, bsd license). implement iperf3 server into reolink website and reolink nvr, implement iperf3 client into camera, introduce anti-abuse policy and management controls (user interface to client) and that's it. i'm aware i made it sound simple.
I had a similar "idea" and it was not resolved. Till this date I use privacy mask. I have to. My cameras monitor remote area that is connected via 5G internet and cameras operate without NVR. As a backup I use FTP. So it's pointless to upload footage or friendly activity nor is to receive any notifications (and 2 minutes is insufficient). So each time I receive a notification I check camera, If I recognize friendlies, i set up privacy mask and later remove the privacy mask. This way I don't receive any false alarms, I save space on FTP server and also save network bandwidth. Simple API would easily help me deal with this. I could then code and app or a website that would trigger privacy mask on/off or as you say arm/disarm.I'm still waiting for this functionality.
I am missing a set of features that would help admins.
@user_816371378602150_816371378602150 that's what i thought. this could be a valuable feature.
Hello. Does Reolink NVR somehow support UPS? I mean, does it know, it is power via UPS (in a way notebook knows it has s battery inserted and at the same time it is on power adapter)? What I'm concerned about in this question is the fact, that in my area, there is a power outage once in a while. In such case, an NVR with UPS could tell the connected PoE cameras to turn on color nightvision (if capable). Is such technology present?
@reolinkshayla I have RLC-842A and RLC-542WA cameras and both support smart detection, yet I don't see the Motion Mark available in my updated app. Any suggestions why?
@p0zeta20_671917366853819 tried, does not work. still loads way too long...
